Alcohol and Healthy Living

September 14, 2021
When consuming alcohol, always consider your plans for the next day. Do you need a good night's sleep? To be on top of your game? I would never demand you need to eliminate alcohol completely, but to always be careful of
moderation!

It even appears that drinking red wine in moderation could help your heart!

“The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks.” (mayo clinic) Another common question is,

“How long does alcohol stay in your system?”

Answer:
Blood: Up to 6 hours Breath: 12-24 Hours Urine: 12-24 Hours Saliva: 12-24 Hours Hair: 90 Days

Overall, as stated in part one, I genuinely believe a glass of alcohol a few times a week won’t hurt your progress
greatly. Moderate alcohol use for healthy adults means up to one drink a day for women and up to two drinks a day for
men.
  • Examples of one drink include:
  • Beer: 12 fluid ounces (355 milliliters)
  • Wine: 5 fluid ounces (148 milliliters)
  • Distilled spirits (80 proof): 1.5 fluid ounces (44 milliliters)
